CHI Health broke ground June 24 on the Lakeside Hills orthopedic center in Omaha, Neb., according to a report from ABC affiliate KETV.

The facility is designed to provide coordinated orthopedic care from diagnosis through recovery and serve as a regional hub for orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, joint replacement and related services.

The center also will house the Creighton University School of Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Residency program.

Advances in surgical techniques, imaging, robotics and other technologies influenced the design of the new facility, which aims to bring those services to one location, according to the report.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
