This is Carrum Health’s first Centers of Excellence partnership in North Carolina, and Carrum members will have access to care at Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital and Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, also in Charlotte, according to an Aug. 9 news release. The partnership, which also includes bariatrics, may expand into other regions of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health’s footprint.

Carrum Health’s Center of Excellence model allows self-insured employers to reduce healthcare costs. Patients usually do not have out-of-pocket costs, deductibles or copays in this model.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
