Here are five things to know:
1. The Medical Mentoring Program at Carolina Orthopaedics covers the areas of orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, podiatry, general surgery and sports medicine.
2. Participating students may choose to shadow certified athletic trainers, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, certified nurse assistants, medical scribes, radiologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, surgical technicians, anesthesiologists and administrators.
3. The program is taking place at Carolina Orthopaedics, Carolina Coast Surgery Center and ATI Physical Therapy.
4. Mentoring physicians include:
• Michael Bohan, MD — hip, knee
• Edward Mikol, MD — shoulder, knee, hip, sports medicine
• Christopher Crosby, DPM — foot, ankle
• Stephen Parker, MD — pain management
• Brian Blair, MD — shoulder, knee, hip, sports medicine
• Andrew Putman, MD — hand, wrist, elbow
• Todd Cook, MD — spine, neck
5. The program began on June 14 and concludes on Aug. 16.
