California orthopedic surgeon to receive inaugural AANA award

The Arthroscopy Association of North America Distinguished Service Award will be awarded to Richard Ryu, MD, at the combined 2021 annual meeting of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and AANA on July 9 in Nashville, Tenn., according to Noozhawk.

The newly created award recognizes AANA members for exceptional service leading an initiative for the society, the orthopedic community or community at large.

Dr. Ryu is being honored for his commitment and leadership to the AANA and Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons Course.

The AANA/SOMOS Course focuses on advanced arthroscopy training for military physicians.
