Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health Imperial Point hospital has become the first hospital in Broward County to offer Stryker’s latest Mako 4 robotic surgical system for joint replacement procedures, according to an Aug. 28 system news release shared with Becker’s.
The technology, used in total hip, total knee and partial knee replacements, combines 3D, CT-based planning with haptic guidance to allow surgeons to create personalized surgical plans and make adjustments in real time.
The system is designed to improve precision, reduce pain, speed recovery and extend implant longevity, according to the release.
