Bioretec taps new CEO

Orthopedic implant company Bioretec has named Sarah van Hellenberg Hubar-Fisher as its permanent CEO. 

In the role, she will aim to expand the company’s commercial footprint, according to an Aug. 27 news release from Bioretec. 

Ms. Van Hellenberg Hubar-Fisher has more than 20 years of business leadership experience in healthcare, medical technology and global public health. She has served as interim CEO of the company since May 2025 and has been a member of the board of directors since 2021

Bioretec’s bioabsorbable orthopedic implants are used in about 40 countries worldwide, the release said.
