The Bear implant is a bridge that restores a patient’s ACL using blood. The implant launched in 2021 and has been used in more than 700 procedures. The distribution agreement will help make it more accessible to surgeons and patients with the VA and DOD, according to a news release.

“We are excited to partner with VHMS to facilitate access to the BEAR Implant for active and retired military personnel served by Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs facilities,” Patrick McBrayer, president and CEO of Miach Orthopaedics, said in the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
