The partnership will create Highlands Sports Medicine, which will be a member of ETSU Health. ETSU’s current BucSports Medicine clinic will be added to Ballad’s network of sports medicine care facilities.
Ballad currently operates sports medicine practices in Johnson City and Big Stone Gap, Tenn.
BucSports Medicine’s clinicians will remain in their current positions as the clinic joins Ballad’s network and will still be considered ETSU faculty.
Through the partnership, the two systems hope to expand and enhance services in the area. Ballad and ETSU are also working to recruit more physicians to continue expanding, according to the report.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
