To achieve the designation, Avala underwent a survey process assessing clinical and operational capabilities, diagnostic services, surgical services, and therapies.
The DNV designation is earned by achieving certification in three advanced programs. Guidelines are informed by organizations including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the ERAS society.
Avala has received advanced certifications in spine surgery, hip and knee replacement, shoulder surgery, and foot and ankle surgery.
Avala orthopedic, spine and neurosurgeons perform over 3,500 procedures a year, according to the release.
