It is one of only four hospitals in the state that has received the distinction, according to the report.

The certification is awarded based on the whole joint replacement process, from pre operation to post operation. Ascension underwent an onsite review from the Joint Commission that evaluated several compliance standards.

“This achievement reflects our expertise, dedication and commitment to our patients undergoing total joint replacements at Ascension Saint Agnes,” Brandi Blevins, MD, told the Review. “We have always known we had a high achieving program and this distinction has validated that for us.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
