Arthrex, which opened in 1981, designs, researches and manufactures orthopedic surgical devices, developing and releasing over 1,000 products for minimally invasive surgical procedures yearly.
Last year, Arthrex’s products benefitted more than 20 million patients, and the company created hundreds of jobs in the Pendleton area, according to the report.
Arthrex’s most recent expansion included the addition of a second manufacturing facility. It also has three new facilities planned for its Pendleton campus, including a 210,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, a 32,000-square-foot finishing facility and an early learning center for the children of employees.
Arthrex, which is based in Florida, has 8,000 employees globally, with nearly 1,000 in South Carolina. Within the next five years, it expects to add 1,700 jobs in Pendleton.
Arthrex also benefits Pendleton residents through its community impact, partnering with local career centers, technical colleges and universities to provide apprenticeship programs and job training opportunities.
