AOFAS installs Dr. David Thordarson as president

David Thordarson, MD, has been installed as president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Dr. Thordarson is currently chief of the foot and ankle surgery division in the department of orthopedics, a professor of orthopedic surgery and director of orthopedic research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to a Sept. 13 news release.

Prior to becoming president of the organization, Dr. Thordarson served as president-elect, vice president and treasurer of the AOFAS. 

In addition to serving as president of the 2,500-member society, Dr. Thordarson will serve on the board of directors of the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Foundation, the society’s philanthropic arm, the release said.
