The American Joint Replacement Registry released its 12th annual report, which includes analysis of more than 4.4 million hip and knee arthroplasty procedures, according to an Oct. 23 news release from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Here are five things to know about the report:
- The analysis of more than 4.4 million procedures was collected from 2012 through 2024, across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
- More than 750 institutions submitted patient-reported outcome measures, expanding reporting on minimal clinically important difference, substantial clinical benefit, patient acceptable symptomatic state and CMS inpatient quality reporting.
- The AJRR has adopted the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis methodology, replacing the Cox model to more accurately describe revision risk over time.
