Louisville, Colo.-based AdventHealth Avista has earned an Orthopedic and Spine Center of Excellence designation from health accreditor DNV Healthcare.
The designation has been given to just 13 hospitals in the U.S., and AdventHealth Avista is the first system in the state to secure it, according to a June 10 news release.
AdventHealth Avista specializes in joint replacements, including for the hips, knees, ankles, feet, and shoulders, as well as spinal decompressions, fusions and disc replacements.
AdventHealth Avista first earned its Advanced DNV certification in April 2024, undergoing a review of each of its departments, including pre-op, post-op, pharmacy, sterile processing, physical and occupational therapy, surgery, anesthesia, dietary, imaging, respiratory, documentation and care management.
