ActiMed Orthopedics has invested in Chicago-based medical device company EDGe Surgical, known for developing the Ortho EDG, a single-use digital depth gauge for orthopedic surgery.

ActiMed is focused on scaling technologies that help reduce surgical inefficiencies and improve patient outcomes across orthopedics, according to a May 9 press release.

Ortho EDG offers surgeons real-time intraoperative measurements, replacing manual depth gauges.

The single-use solution minimizes implant waste, operating room time and infection risk, according to the release.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
