ABOS names Dr. Charles Nelson as president

The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery has selected Charles Nelson, MD, as its next president.

Dr. Nelson is chief of adult reconstruction surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and professor of orthopedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, according to a Sept. 25 news release from the ABOS. 

In addition, the organization appointed Lisa Taitsman, MD, as vice president, Gregory Guyton, MD, as president-elect, Gregory McComis, MD, as secretary and re-elected Kyle Jeray, MD, as treasurer.

All of the appointed officers will serve a one-year term, the release said.
