The year-long feasibility pilot will capture orthopedic oncology data at six major U.S. academic centers. Participating sites include:
- Cleveland Clinic
- Hanover, N.H.-based Dartmouth College
- Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University
- The Ohio State University in Columbus
- Stanford (Calif.) University
- The University of Iowa in Iowa City
The MsT registry pilot will be the third program in AAOS’ Registry Program series. It will be the first diagnosis-based AAOS registry and will initially focus on tracking function, complications and patient outcomes in those treated for bone or soft tissue sarcomas. It may expand to include other musculoskeletal tumors and metastatic bone diseases in the future.
“This registry will fill a gap in current sarcoma care by focusing on quality-of-life and functional outcomes in addition to oncologic end points,” said Benjamin J. Miller, MD, a physician leader on the MsT registry pilot team.
