The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons introduced the Orthopaedic Research Excellence Awards, according to a July 8 news release from the organization.
Here are four things to know:
- The program recognizes significant contributions to musculoskeletal research and how the research improves patient care.
- The awards honor clinical, translational and basic science research.
- Three AAOS Research Awards as well as the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award are included in the new program.
- Applications and nominations are open through Aug. 31.
