Six new AANA-defined hip diagnostic exams were created to train surgeons on instrument usage, anatomy recognition and diagnostics. The simulation-based training was created through a partnership between the Arthroscopy Association of North America and VirtaMed.

“The collaboration between VirtaMed and AANA’s working group has been mutually beneficial,” André Niederberger, PhD, of VirtaMed said. “We have been able to combine expertise in simulation with expert medical knowledge to improve medical education and protect patient safety.”

The new module will be presented at the AOSSM-AANA Combined 2021 Annual Meeting, being held July 7 to 11.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
