1. Dr. Pellegrini is director of the nurse anesthesia program at Baltimore-based University of Maryland School of Nursing, where he is also an associated professor.
2. Prior to serving as the director of the nurse anesthesia program, Dr. Pellegrini was the director of research for the Navy Nurse Corps Anesthesia Program. He retired at the rank of captain.
3. AAN has elected about 2,000 nursing professionals, including 30 CRNAs, as fellows since its establishment in 1973.
