9 Joint Commission certifications in 3 months

From three hospitals in a Texas health system to an Ohio orthopedic institute, nine medical centers have received certifications from The Joint Commission for orthopedic or spine care since Nov. 7.

1. Englewood (N.J.) Health was re-certified by The Joint Commission for its hip and knee, spinal fusion surgery, and stroke care programs. 

2. Baltimore-based Ascension Saint Agnes earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification. 

3. Covenant Health Plainview (Texas) earned the Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification from The Joint Commission. 

4. Three Arlington-based Texas Health hospitals received The Joint Commission’s Advanced Certification for hip and knee replacements. 

5. Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute earned The Joint Commission’s certification for spine and shoulder care. 

6. New Brunswick, N.J.-based Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, an affiliate of RWJBarnabas Health, received its third consecutive Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Hip and Knee Replacement Disease-Specific Care Certification. 

7. UC San Diego Health received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery.
