An unauthorized party gained access to the practice’s system on or around Nov. 24. The practice detected suspicious activity that same day, and determined by Dec. 9 that files and folders were compromised. It then conducted an internal investigation, which was completed Jan. 29.

Information affected by the breach included patient names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, billing information, and health insurance and medical information.

Levi Korsinsky said in a March 3 news release that it is investigating whether affected individuals are entitled to compensation.
