Dr. Keith Meister to operate on Colorado Rockies pitcher

Keith Meister, MD, is set to perform elbow surgery on Jeff Criswell, a pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, on March 14.

Dr. Meister will perform Tommy John surgery on Mr. Criswell’s right arm, according to a March 2 news release from mlb.com.

The typical recovery timeline for pitchers undergoing Tommy John surgery is 12 to 18 months. 

Dr. Meister is the director of sports medicine at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers.
