Dr. Maher will focus on advancing orthopedic research and innovation at ORS, according to a Feb. 11 LinkedIn post. She succeeds Susan Bukata, MD, who served as president for the last year.

Dr. Maher is chief research officer at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery. Her specializations include joint mechanics, non-degradable polymers for replacement of cartilage and meniscal defects, and pre-surgical planning for meniscal injury treatments using sensors.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
