Here are 17 leaders that were tapped for CEO or president roles at major orthopedic practices and organizations throughout 2024:
1. Tim Corvino, MD, was named CEO of Orthopedic Care Partners in December. Dr. Corvino was previously CEO of Spire Orthopedic Partners, and he was also COO of Covenant Physician Partners and U.S. Acute Care Solutions.
2. Zavation, a spine device company, named Lane Major as CEO in December. Mr. Major succeeds Zavation's founder, Jeffrey Johnson.
3. Carmel, Ind.-based Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics tapped Angie Stevenson as CEO in December. Ms. Stevenson has 22 years of healthcare management experience, most recently serving as CEO of Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis.
4. The Miami Orthopaedic Society appointed Michele D'Apuzzo, MD, as president in November. Dr. D'Apuzzo is a professor of orthopedic surgery and director of the adult reconstruction and joint replacement fellowship program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
5. Ravi Chari, MD, was named CEO of Orthopaedic Solutions Management in November. Dr. Chari has more than 35 years of experience in healthcare and most recently served as COO of InnovaCare Health.
6. Orthopedic implant company 4Web Medical appointed Brad Niemann as president in October. Mr. Niemann most recently served as CEO of Conventus Flower Orthopedics.
7. D. Scott Kreiner, MD, was named the new president of the North American Spine Society in September. He is the director of interventional spine and sports medicine at Barrow Brain & Spine in Phoenix.
8. Wayne Fraleigh was named CEO of Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo., in September. He was most recently COO for Bon Secours Mercy Health in Greenville, S.C., and oversaw 65 ambulatory locations and more than 450 providers.
9. Medical technology company Enovis appointed Tim Czartoski as president of U.S. surgical and global product and enabling technologies in September. Mr. Czartoski has direct responsibility for the company's U.S. surgical business, including the global surgical product engine and enabling technologies.
10. United Musculoskeletal Partners named David McIntosh as CEO of its Georgia market in August. Mr. McIntosh most recently worked as an operating partner with Green Mill Capital and led its investing team.
11. eCential Robotics, a company specializing in surgical robots to improve bone surgery outcomes, tapped Clément Vidal as its new CEO in July. Mr. Vidal has 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, formerly serving as CEO of surgical robotics company Endocontrol.
12. Orthofix named Max Reinhardt as president of global spine effective June 10. He oversees SeaSpine, Orthofix's global spine and biologics business.
13. Rebecca Whitney was named CEO of spine devicemaker Highridge Medical in April. Ms. Whitney was previously global spine president at ZimVie, and she worked at Zimmer Biomet in various leadership roles for almost seven years.
14. Management services organization Aligned Orthopedic Partners, which serves practices in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., appointed Jeff Andrews as its new CEO in April. Mr. Andrews has over 20 years of executive experience, including strategic roles within the healthcare sector.
15. James Voos, MD, head team physician for the Cleveland Browns and the Jack and Mary Herrick distinguished chair of orthopedics and sports medicine at University Hospitals in Cleveland, was elected president of the NFL Physicians Society in March.
16. U.S. Orthopaedic Partners named Stephen Holtzclaw, MD, as its new CEO in January. Dr. Holtzclaw worked as CEO of Alteon Health, a physician-led acute care medical group. He was also president of hospital-based services for TeamHealth.
17. Franklin-based Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee named John Reynolds as its new CEO in January.
