Dr. Evan O’Donnell operates on Boston Red Sox player

Evan O’Donnell, MD, performed successful shoulder surgery on Masataka Yoshida, a player for the Boston Red Sox.

The surgery, a right shoulder labral repair, was performed Oct. 3 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to an Oct. 16 news release.

Mr. Yoshida is expected to return for the start of the 2025 MLB season.  

Dr. O’Donnell is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and is an assistant team physician for the New England Patriots.
