California orthopedic supplier goes independent

Chico, Calif.-based Cascade Orthopedic Supply, a distributor of orthotics, prosthetics, materials and equipment, has become an independently owned company after finalizing a deal with orthotics and prosthetics provider Ottobock, according to an Oct. 3 report from HME News.

After the deal was finalized Sept. 27, Cascade became an independently held company. Throughout their partnership, Cascade and Ottobock operated autonomously and their working relationship as supplier and distributor will remain unchanged, according to the report.

Cascade says it will maintain distribution of Ottobock’s orthotic and prosthetic devices and the two will uphold a strong supplier partnership.

The partnership dissolution will have no impact on customer pricing, according to a notice posted on Cascade’s website.

“I am elated to have the opportunity to redeem all outstanding ownership interests of Ottobock by Cascade,” Jeff Collins, CEO of Cascade Orthopedic Supply, told HME. “Our time at Ottobock allowed us to strengthen the core competencies of the business and achieve growth despite challenging market conditions. I am grateful for those who have worked with us along the way and excited to bring independent innovative solutions to our customers.”
