Motor City Orthopedics, based in Novi, Mich., added six orthopedic surgeons in November as part of its ongoing expansion across the Detroit area.

The new physicians — Jacob Markel, MD, Stephanie Nulty, MD, Nicholas Bolz, MD, William Kesto, MD, David Markel, MD, and Jefferey Michaelson, MD — bring experience in sports medicine, joint replacement, minimally invasive surgery and orthopedic trauma, according to a November system news release shared with Becker’s

The group has grown from four to 13 physicians since 2019 and now includes 28 total providers. It has also expanded from a single site in Novi to include locations in Southfield, Warren and Howell, Mich.

The additions are in response to increased demand for orthopedic services in the region, according to the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
