$5M donation establishes chairs for orthopedics, other specialities

A $5 million donation to UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, Mass., will establish endowed chairs for five specialties including orthopedics, the school said April 14.

The donation came from Donna and Robert Manning, according to a news release. Michael Stauff, MD, will be the Donna M. and Robert J. Manning Chair in Orthopedics. He is an associate professor and vice chair for clinical practice in the orthopedics and physical rehabilitation department.

The other specialties gaining endowed chairs are neurology, neurobiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and nursing.
