Here is the average annual salary and mean hourly wage for orthopedic surgeons, along with the average earnings in the highest-paying state in each year since 2021:
Mean annual wage: $306,220
Mean hourly wage: $147.22
Highest-paying state: Georgia, annual wage of $381,830
Mean annual wage: $371,400; year-over-year increase of $65,180
Mean hourly wage: $178.56
Highest-paying state: Hawaii, annual wage of $554,520
Mean annual wage: $378,250; year-over-year increase of $6,850
Mean hourly wage: $181.85
Highest-paying state: Minnesota, annual wage of $565,450
