4 systems acquiring orthopedic, spine groups in 4 months

From Ascension to Cedars-Sinai, four health systems have acquired new orthopedic and spine groups so far in 2024: 

1. Ascension St. Vincent Evansville (Ind.) added the physicians and staff of Evansville-based Midwest Neurological to its medical group following a yearslong care partnership. 

2. Teaneck, N.J.-based Holy Name Medical Center added North Jersey Orthopaedic Specialists, which is based in the same city. Through the acquisition, seven physicians will join the medical center. 

3. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai added two orthopedic providers, Congress Orthopaedic Associates and Risser Orthopaedic Group in Pasadena and Arcadia, Calif., to its network. The two practices provide services in areas including knee, ankle, foot and hip, hand and wrist, shoulder and elbow, and neck and spine, as well as joint replacement, sports medicine, occupational medicine and orthopedic oncology.

4. Rexburg, Idaho-based Madisonhealth added Upper Valley Orthopedics and its two physicians Michael Larson, MD, and Travis Torngren, MD.
