Valley Health Warren Memorial Hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for total knee and total hip replacements.
This is the second time Warren, located in Front Royal, Va., has earned the two-year recognition, which is awarded in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Facilities are awarded based on presurgical orthopedic consultation and patient education to surgery, pain management, rehabilitation and follow-up appointments, according to an April 4 press release.
Two area specialists, Mesfin Shibeshi, DO, and Erik Mitchell, DO, are responsible for performing orthopedic surgeries at Warren.
Dr. Shibeshi performs robot-assisted total knee replacements and same-day total knee reconstruction procedures at Warren, completing more than 250 robotic cases at the facility since 2022.
