Dain Allred, MD, will operate on Real Salt Lake midfielder Pablo Ruiz, the team said March 7.
Mr. Ruiz suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee on March 5.
Dr. Allred, of Provo, Utah-based Intermountain Hospital and the team's orthopedic surgeon, is expected to treat the midfielder. A timeline for Mr. Ruiz's recovery hasn't been set.
