New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery was among 134 hospitals named to Healthgrades' Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Excellence ranking, and it is the only hospital to earn the top rating in all four surgery cohorts.
For Healthgrades' 2024 ranking, HSS earned five-star ratings for outpatient total knee replacement, total hip replacement, rotator cuff surgery and back and neck surgery, according to a Feb. 13 news release.
"As outpatient surgery options become more available, it is very important that consumers have trustworthy guidance on the facts and implications of quality differences," HSS CEO Bryan Kelly, MD, said in the release. "HSS appreciates this unique recognition by Healthgrades, and its potential to help consumers make better choices about their care and encourage all providers to prioritize quality improvement."
