Extremity Medical develops fixation and fusion implants and motion preservation systems for surgeons to treat reconstructions of the hand, wrist, foot and ankle.

The venture will combine Ossium’s cellular therapeutics expertise with Extremity’s experience in orthopedics and its network of surgeons, hospitals and ASCs, according to a Jan. 31 press release.

OssiGraft is a viable bone matrix allograft derived from the vertebral bones of organ donors and used in orthopedic surgery to support the reconstruction or repair of musculoskeletal defects or injuries.

Extremity has already completed its first cases with OssiGraft, and the product is now available to surgeons around the country through Extremity Medical.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
