The procedure was a right shoulder labral surgery, according to a Jan. 16 news release from mlb.com

Mr. Graveman did not pitch in the playoffs last year because of discomfort in his right shoulder. He underwent a rest and rehab program before beginning to prepare for spring training, which is when the discomfort returned.

The team expects Mr. Graveman to miss the entire 2024 MLB season, the release said.

Dr. Meister is the director of sports medicine at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
