Dr. Dharmesh Vyas performs knee surgery on Pittsburgh Penguins forward

Dharmesh Vyas, MD, PhD, head team physician for the Pittsburgh Penguins, performed laparoscopic knee surgery on the NHL team’s forward Matt Nieto, according to a Jan. 4 report from ESPN.

Dr. Vyas performed the procedure at UPMC St. Margaret Harmar Outpatient Center in Pittsburgh. Mr. Nieto is expected to recover in six to eight weeks. 

Mr. Nieto was moved to injury reserve for the team on Jan. 2.
