North Carolina orthopedic practice suffers data breach 

Greensboro, N.C.-based Southeastern Orthopaedic Specialists experienced a data breach that exposed sensitive consumer information, according to a Jan. 2 article from an attorney from Console and Associates published by JDSupra.

An unauthorized party was able to gain access to the Southeastern Orthopaedic Specialists’ network, accessing patient data including names, demographic information and reasons for visits. 

The company on Dec. 19 sent letters to individuals affected by the incident.
