The implant procedure was conducted by Daniel Howard, MD, and it was the first BEAR procedure performed in Westchester County, N.Y.

The BEAR implant is the first FDA-approved medical advancement that allows the body to heal its own torn ACL, allowing for faster patient recovery and higher success rates.

Somers Orthopaedic, which was acquired by orthopedic management organization Health Plus Management earlier this year, is Health Plus’ second affiliate to add the BEAR procedure.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
