Neal ElAttrache, MD, performed shoulder surgery on Clayton Kershaw, who pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season.

The surgery was to repair the glenohumeral ligaments and capsule in Mr. Kershaw's left shoulder, according to a Nov. 3 report by mlb.com.

He initially suffered the injury during a game on June 27. He returned to action on Aug. 10 but was not fully recovered.

Mr. Kershaw, who has played his entire career with the Dodgers, is currently a free agent. He plans to return to pitching at some point during the summer of next season, the report said.

Dr. ElAttrache is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Rams, the city's NFL franchise. He also serves as an orthopedic consultant to two NHL teams — the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks — as well as the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers.
