Gemini is focused on developing MRI imaging and volumetric analysis products to create interactive views of joints. The investment will fund product development and an inital commercial launch.

Andy Pearle, MD, chief of sports medicine at New York City-based HSS co-founded Gemini.

“Gemini has the potential to reshape how we leverage musculoskeletal MRI images to assist in evaluating joint health, optimize surgical planning, and enhance patient engagement,” he said in the release. “Our technology uses proprietary AI-based algorithms to deliver a real-time volumetric assessment of joint health and provide surgeons a critical 3D view of the joint. This fundamentally improves the efficiency and precision of the legacy MRI-imaging investments.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
