Dr. David Altchek operates on New York Mets player

David Altchek, MD, performed elbow surgery on Francisco Lindor, a shortstop for the New York Mets in New York City, ESPN reported Oct. 11.

The procedure, which took place Oct. 10, removed a bone spur in Mr. Lindor’s right elbow,

Mr. Lindor is expected to make a full recovery by the start of spring training next year, the Mets said. 

Dr. Altchek serves as the medical director for the Mets and is a medical consultant for the NBA. He is also an attending orthopedic surgeon and co-chief emeritus of the HSS Sports Medicine Institute in New York City.
