Ochsner Health earns total hip and knee replacement accreditation from Joint Commission

Two Ochsner Health facilities recently received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for total hip and knee replacement accreditation.

Jefferson, La.-based Ochsner Medical Center and Elmwood, La.-based Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine are two of three hospitals in Louisiana with this accreditation. They first received this certification in 2021. 

The most recent accreditation was given after an unannounced onsite review during the summer, according to an Oct. 2 news release.

Ochsner Health has 35 orthopedic surgeons at 25 locations. The health system has received several other awards for its orthopedic care, including Healthgrades’ Joint Replacement Excellence Award and Centers of Excellence recognition from Walmart.
