The operation is to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in Mr. Domínguez’s elbow. The procedure could also include an internal brace, according to a Sept. 14 news release from mlb.com.
The injury was traced back to a Sept. 3 game and got progressively worse as Mr. Domínguezreceived treatment.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone estimated a 9 to 10 month recovery timeline, the report said.
