2 athletes having hip surgery

Two well-known athletes had hip surgeries in the last week.

1. Edwin Hsu, MD, performed a hip resurfacing procedure on NHL winger Patrick Kane June 1. The procedure was successful, and his recovery is expected to last four to six months.

2. Tennis player Rafael Nadal had sugery on his hip, he said in a June 3 tweet. He had an arthroscopy on his left psoas tendon, the tweet, translated from Spanish, said. Mr. Nadal thanked Marc Philippon, MD; Dr. Jaume Vilaró and Dr. Angel Ruiz-Cotorro.
