Top 112 hospitals for outpatient joint replacements, per Healthgrades

Orthopedic

Healthgrades has released its inaugural list of top hospitals for outpatient joint replacements in 2023 and 2024, according to a May 9 press release.

The list comes as more Americans are shifting hip and knee replacements to the outpatient setting, with 500,000 Medicare patients undergoing the procedures on an outpatient basis between 2019 and 2021.

Healthgrades based its rankings exclusively on clinical outcomes. Patients undergoing a joint replacement at one of the top 112 hospitals have a 50 percent lower chance of experiencing complications than patients treated at other facilities, according to the release.
