Atlantic Health System launches orthopedic residency program

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System has launched a five-year orthopedic residency program and a one-year adult reconstruction fellowship program.

The programs will take place at Atlantic Health System’s Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center and will be led by James Wittig, MD, the chair of the department of orthopedics at Atlantic, according to a May 2 release sent to Becker’s

Morristown Medical Center currently has 100 active physicians in its orthopedic department, performing approximately 11,500 orthopedic surgeries per year. The hospital projects a case increase of 1,000 per year over the next five years.
