Zimmer Biomet acquires 3D printed implant developer Ossis

Medical technology company Zimmer Biomet has acquired Ossis, a medical device company specializing in personalized 3D-printed implants for hip replacements.

In 2021, Zimmer partnered with Ossis as the company’s Asia Pacific partner for 3D-printed titanium hip joint replacements and other pelvic bone replacement surgery, according to a May 1 press release. 

In 2022, the partnership expanded to Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The acquisition will allow Zimmer Biomet to expand its hip reconstruction product portfolio.
