Seattle Thunderbirds orthopedic surgeon Dr. Alfred Blue dies

Alfred Blue, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and team physician for the Seattle Thunderbirds, a junior hockey league team, has died, the team said.

Dr. Blue had served as a team physician for Seattle hockey teams since 1963, according to an April 25 news release from the team. 

In 2006, Dr. Blue was awarded the Western Hockey League Distinguished Service Award by the league’s commissioner. 

The Thunderbirds named the team medical room the “Dr. Alfred Blue Medical Room” in his honor in 2017.

Dr. Blue was also a practicing attorney specializing in medical legal cases.
