Meet the AAOS’ 2023-24 leadership

Kevin Bozic, MD, is the next president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the organization said March 9.

Dr. Bozic will lead the AAOS in its 2023-2024 term, according to a news release. He marks three years of volunteer service on the AAOS board of directors.

Dr. Bozic is the inaugural chair of surgery and perioperative care Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. He’s a recognized leader in orthopedics and value-based care healthcare models. His clinical practice focuses on hip and knee arthritis, and he has more than 20 years of experience as an adult reconstructive surgeon.

Paul Tornetta, III, MD, PhD, was named first vice president of the AAOS. He is chief of orthopedics and director of orthopedic trauma at Boston Medical Center.

Annunziato (Ned) Amendola, MD, is the second vice president. He has led Durham, N.C.-based Duke University’s sports medicine program since 2015.
